Xanthippi Tokmakidou holds a degree in German Language and Literature at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with postgraduate studies in Educational Leadership at the European University of Cyprus, in Business Administration at the University of Glasgow, with Diplomas in pedagogy and special education with the Montessori method at the Kinderzentrum in Munich. She holds a PhD in music pedagogy in a subject area that includes language acquisition with music-language enriched teaching materials through educational technology (iPad applications) for primary school children.
In recent years she has been teaching in postgraduate programmes in academic institutions, in subjects related to music education and more recently to educational tourism management and to mechanisms for the protection of social rights.
As of September 2023, she has become a member of the researchers’ teams of social economy and inclusion and of social welfare and inclusion at the University of West Attica’s Research Hub of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences/Unit of Social Policy.
The main focus of her long-term employment is structural reforms in public administration, in particular the design and implementation of reforms. She has broad experience in public administration, having served in various positions successively at the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Development, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Economy and Finance being responsible for the design and monitoring of structural reforms co-financed by Structural Funds, while working with the Institutions, EU Agencies, as well as International Organizations.
