Apostolos G. Christopoulos graduated with honors in 1992 from the Department of Economics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He subsequently obtained a postgraduate specialization in "Social Security and Safety in Europe" from Roskilde University in Denmark. He then completed postgraduate studies in "Communication Policy" at City University in London, where he also worked at Unisys. He returned to Greece in 1996 and worked as a Special Scientist for companies and independent authorities such as OTE-Leasing, OTE S.A., E.E.T.T., R.A.E., and E.S.R.
In 2001, he earned an Executive Master's degree in "Finance and Banking" from the Athens University of Economics and Business, and in 2004, he moved to Sofia as the Head of EU Consultants at the Ministry of Communications of Bulgaria, preparing the country for EU accession in the field of electronic communications. In 2006, he was awarded a PhD in Economics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Since then, he has continuously taught courses in Banking and Financial Theory at the Department of Economics.
He also teaches undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences of NTUA, the Athens University of Economics and Business, the Kentucky MBA, Piraeus University of Applied Sciences, Hellenic Open University, and Open University of Cyprus. For several years, he also taught at the National School of Public Administration. In addition to his professional and teaching work, he has an extensive body of published work in international scientific journals and has authored and edited books in Banking and Finance, which are also the focus of his research interests.
